Tipton, Pennsylvania – DelGrosso’s Park celebrates National Carousel Day on July 25, 2024, in coordination with our season-long celebration of our iconic Herschell-Spillman Carousel's 100th Birthday! Our Antique Carouselle ride has been a treasured centerpiece of our park, and we're excited to mark its centennial with a day of fun and nostalgia.

We are offering our Park Guests FREE Carousel Rides All Day (July 25th) on our Antique Carouselle! Join us at the tent beside the Antique Carouselle at 12noon for FREE Giveaways (available while supplies last) and chances to win two amazing carousel-themed baskets!

Guests, including members of the National Carousel Association, are drawn to our historic carousel. Our carousel was featured in the spring issue of "The Merry-Go-Roundup," the journal of the National Carousel Association. All horses on the carousel are original and have reached the remarkable age of 100. The carousel remains in its original location, serving as a timeless centerpiece of our park, offering a nostalgic ride that complements our modern attractions, bridging the past and present for our guests.

Carousel Facts:

  • Manufactured by Spillman Engineering Corporation in 1924, located in North Tonawanda, New York.
  • Features 36 hand-carved and hand-painted jumping horses and 2 chariots.
  • Lead horse "Ferdinand" with a red sash.
  • Restored in 1988 and 2016-2017.
  • The carousel features music played by a Wurlitzer 146B Band Organ, also turning 100 years old.
  • Approximately 70% of the inner workings are original, with necessary maintenance performed by our dedicated Maintenance/Operations Team.

Wurlitzer Band Organ 146B Facts:

  • Referred to as a Military Band Organ.
  • Refurbished for the 1977, 1988, and 2016 seasons.
  • The organ plays a variety of big band style music, not specific to any one period.
